Genre

Yesterday I realized that I like a very specific genre of song which is songs from the 1970's where the narrator is in California and reflecting on their life (or the life of someone else) in either Georgia, New York or some unnamed state. Sadly they are no songs written about the Bay Area & Maryland. Perhaps I should get on that (eventually I will write the perfect Country & Western OR soul song). Examples of this genre include Midnight Train to Georgia, I am I said, It never rains in Southern California, Sitting on the Dock of a Bay (actually 1967), and Georgia Morning Dew.

Goal 2:00 220

After Heather and I were finished with the half was happy with my time (2 and a half minutes faster than the easier Kaiser).
Heather said she wants to get under 2:00.

Based on the whole lose 1 lb makes you 2 seconds faster per mile, losing 24 lbs between now and November 4th will be enough to make a sub 2:00 half marathon doable.

That works out to 2 pounds per week for 13 weeks.

Damn Good day

With a little bit of prep work, this morning was early but really smooth.
Woke up on time, we got into the city and was able to get parking, had an espresso.

The race went well even if I was grouchy on the bridge. Maybe I should have been under the bridge!
Heather is way more nimble.

Thigh was sore for the last three miles. Happy with my time (2:12)
Lose a little more weight, can get to 2:00.

Need to continue to track calories. (which has been effective and impacts my choices)
Will be mixing up the workouts, not just long plodding runs.

Was in the hot tub when I noticed my neighbor with a grill was moving. Purchased it for $60.

Free on Craigslist

Recently I got a new coffee machine that also makes espresso so my old coffee machine was taking up space.
Instead of dumping it I decided to put an ad on Craigslist. Figured it would be a good way to get rid of the two giant margarita glasses that I had poorly decided to purchase while I was in Mexico. I could imagine lugging those tacky things around all night.
Got a response from someone and it turned out they were working at Seton medical and I was on my way into the city so I dropped them off.
Made me think back to Christmas in 2006 when I gave away that iSight camera.

I think in an ideal world there is no difference between the professional and the personal and in the modern world, the two have intersected much more in the past but in reality bias is a very real thing and knowing someones politics/creed/orientation/favorite football team can cause some bosses to make different choices so a wall is needed.
