Boring running entry no snow

At this point you are well aware that San Francisco was transformed into a winter wonderland. I do not like chestnuts. They smell good but I could not imagine wanting to eat them. 
I do like almonds. 

Woke up and discovered that not only was it not snowing but rather sunny (brisk but sunny)

Drove into the city for the start of another cycle of training sessions. It is good to have the positive peer pressure to run. Also a standing running appointment will prevent over doing it on a Friday night. 
Each session starts with a two mile run. Most of the time I am right above/below the 20 minute mark for two miles. Today I ran two miles in 17:43 which I was thrilled with. It also put me over 100 miles for the month for only the second time since I re-started running in 2007. My goal for 2011 is 1000 miles and so far I have run 213 miles or the distance between Daly City and Red Bluff. 
My motivation for going back to running was that I was working at Google and the food is amazing and I knew I had to become far more active.

Country Songs about having a cold

As I told one of my readers, on some level I want attention as I have a cold
Like Superbowl Sunday had perfect running weather, this is perfect having a cold weather. It is cold and rainy. Very yuck yuck. 

One of the simple pleasures of life is taking a dog on a leisurely walk while eating a fuji apple (If you like red delicious then something is wrong with you!) on a nice day. Walking a dog when it is cold and rainy validates my decision to get a cat. My cat likes looking at the rain but not making me participate. 

Did a market research study and got an iTunes gift card so I am thinking of soul, country and running songs. 

My kickball captain request that I acted as a host of a beer event at the Republic. I am not a fan of toil that requires interacting with the public so if I have to switch careers, I doubt being the host of red lobster would be in consideration. 

Turns out most of the Las Vegas trip, most of my current kickball team, and some randoms took an opposite of sub (Bus in base fred) to the Saddle Rack in Fremont.

Justification for going vegetarian

First off, at this point I have not gotten food poisoning. 
I was considering writing a Yelp review or writing a nasty e-mail but then again I have decided to not name the joint and not go again. 

After running (5 miles for a total of 63 miles this month) I wanted to get something to eat prior to pub quiz. Thought about Pho but remembered that I had a voucher for a burger place.
(I am trying to use the vouchers)

If given the choice of meat, I typically choose fish, then poultry, then beef and I avoid pork and lamb. 

Order a chicken sandwich, I get a hamburger, OK fair enough, 

Bite into it and I see that it is rather undercooked/raw. When I pointed it out they made me another hamburger so I started doing a Google search on
bit into undercooked hamburger. Saw the venue I was in was listed. 

While I was waiting for the replacement burger he asked if I liked the sause. I kind of felt like Mary Lincoln asked about the show at Ford Theater. (I am exaggerating) 

Kept on thinking that I was going to get food poisoning (which besides eating bad food, thinking you are going to get sick is a great way to make it happen) but luckily I am fine. 

We did win at pub quiz for the third week in a row because I worked at the Gap when they had an oldies tape
Seems like the great Frank Chu could have joined the band.

7 miles in a light rain but I did see a Standard

It was a good day even though for the first time in a while it was not sunny. 
This "winter" has had some of the best weather that I remember (and running a half marathon in the rain is not fun) 

I went for a run around the Marina to Hopper's Hands (or Opposite of Fred) and back to the Marcusmobile. 
On the way out I saw a black standard poodle (of course without the fancy haircut) playing with their person and running across the field. Made me think of Noel when I visited my sister at the University of Delaware. 

Right now I am at 58 miles for February. For me to run as much as I did in January I will need to run 54 miles in the next two weeks which is doable.

Good week of running

Since I started running again in 2007 I have run a total of 3001 miles or the distance from the Golden Gate Bridge to West Palm Beach

Ran a half marathon in 2:20 which is 10 minutes faster than last year (and eight minutes faster than my previous best on that course) and two minutes faster than the San Jose half in 2008.

Plus most mileage in a week since October of 1988. 34.41 miles compared to 33.73 miles (week of January 16th)
51 miles in February and 163 miles in 2011. So 11% into 2011 I am 16% done with my goal of 1000 miles. 

Now I need to convince the rest of inhabitants of crown colony why the pool should be unheated.

A damn good day...

Woke up on time (5 AM) and found a reasonable parking spot for the Kaiser half.
No threat of rain (running in the rain sucks) 

It got to 77 degrees in San Francisco so the great highway portion was a bit hotter (queue violins) 
The Kaiser half went well and I finished 10 minutes faster than I did in previous years and two minutes faster than my faster half (San Jose in 2008)
Made it worth the sore legs (and the sore shoulder)

Waiting at amc van ness..

After a really nice day will be seeing the fighter at amc van ness. I will not be going tp this theater again. As theaters are far more expensive to see movies they must be way better and sadly this theater makes the metreon look like a well planned idea. If you are one to arrive early there is no where to sit except for paid massage chairs. Will be giving them a one star review on yelp and that will sort everything out.

Commercial for sirius xm

My drive across san francisco could have been an ad for sirius xm. I am in the epicenter cafe as part of the coffee disloyalty program.
Anyway I was too lazy to plug in my phone for either sirius xm or pandora so I took my chances with the free ad supported radio stations that are mostly owned by clear channel.
It was not like a Saturday morning with a pleasant beatles breakfast. No, I was subjected to the same set of ads on three different stations. This was boots!

Kaiser among other things....

This Sunday I will be running the Kaiser half marathon. It will be the fourth Superbowl in a row that I will have sore legs. 

I remember in 2000 on the morning of the Superbowl, it was raining and one of my neighbors mentioned he had run a Half marathon. This was so far removed from my reality, that they could have said that he had gone to the moon. 

What got me back into running, in 2007 was working at Google where they feed you breakfast, lunch and dinner and it would be really easy to get really big. 
The Nike + has been a big help and since I started keeping track I have run about 2950 miles. My goal by 12/20/2020 is to have run a total of 12400 which is the furthest you can run between two points on the earth (and yes, I am not accounting for topography)

The weather report shows it will be nice, maybe even too warm but that is not a bad problem to have. Running in the rain sucks if you get your socks wet. This makes me think of Forest Gump. 
I remember when my Mom bought a copy of the movie that was recorded in a movie theater..
