Pomegranates Job Score.

I like the farmers market. It is one of those simple things in the good category. My routine is to hit it before closing because well its cheaper.
Today I bought a bag of Pomegranates for $1. I do not think I have ever made this particular purchase and it is still in the undecided category.
I have drank Pomegranates juice and teas but I am not sure the whole thing.

If you are a recruiter you need to check out Job Score
https://www.jobscore.com/corp_forms/account_prospect/request_invite/MARCUSRONALDIREFER
(This is an example of something showing up at the exact right time...)

Earlier in the day, I saw a guy in a Porsche jacket getting into a Honda Accord. He was not nearly as interesting as the woman smoking while wearing a Lance Armstrong Live Strong Bracelet.

Wok Run

First off I had my second dentist appointment of the week.
As my readers would rather go to the dentist themselves than hear about my exploits I will not go into further detail.

Once again I saw one of the wonderful dog owners of Crown Colony left a souvenir of their walk for all other residents to enjoy. It rang the annoy button but then I thought back to the 1970's and 1980's and to be honest, I was not walking around with bags around Marlton elementary. So even for the next ten years, I clean it up, at that point I would be even.
So once again, I got something out of the trash to clean it up.

Went for a run which cleared my head. I am in a much better mood after a run.

Later ended up at the pub quiz where I drank malinkey (water)

Taper and crowds...

The week leading up to a half marathon, your supposed to be tapering your running. The week after your supposed to be recovering.
I think I was a bit ambitious on the number of half marathons but I am glad I did the Nike half. Next year I am skipping the San Jose half because it is hot and kind of boring and well, in San Jose. On Saturday I have to pick up my number.
Was going to run but it was too cold and I remember that I am supposed to taper.

As far as Taco Tuesday, I have no one but myself to blame as it is not my scene. I need to set up some sort of service which sends me a reminder when I think of going to that place.

Perfect Dentist Weather

I do not like going to a dentist whose office is on the first floor of a building where people can look in and watch you get worked on.
So if you have a dentist office, go on the second floor.

Got my dental work done and my jaw is numb/sore but its all good.
Someone must have turned the switch from nice weather to the blustery cold weather.

I am glad the weather was yucky because well if the weather is nice, then you do not want to be getting dental work.

Went to Blue Monday at 330 Ritch. Brought a bunch of business cards but left them in the Marcusmobile. Gas Prices are going way down. You can get gas at Costco for $2.63.

I could imagine my readership reading this and thinking that this is as bad as one of the newer Nick Hornby books since "About a Boy". You are wondering if they could build a time mac hine and go back and warn themselves not to read about me going to the dentist.

As many of the story lines are coming to a close, (kickball, team in training,  the half marathons etc) I need to figure out what nonsense to get myself so I have more interesting things to write about beyond going to the dentist.

If the sky we look upon...

I have no idea what to write.
For some reason I still had a Marcus name tag and as I walked down Chestnut somebody yelled my name that was in a bar. I was going through my mental Rolodex but could not figure out who this person was. Then I saw they were taking the mickey.

Earlier in the day I saw that a kitten had been killed in front of the complex. Made me sad and re-enforced why Sasha is an indoor cat. Then it made me think, if I saw a dead bird or squirrel I would not have thought twice but a cat (or a dog) and I am sad. I wanted to turn around and resolve the situation but it seemed that it was under control.

Went for a three mile run around part of the course of the USHalf marathon next week. It will be my second time running this. Last year I ran it in 2:33.

On another note, I posted my resume on my homepage.
http://web.me.com/hydra9/Site_4/Resume.html
It was designed to show up on resume searches.

Embrace the lull

All around me I feel that everything is/or has come to a conclusion.
From running the Nike Half/Team in training to kickball to everything.
Was in a bit of a funk and not in a trouble/mothership sort of way but kind of Denny Laine after the break up of Wings.

Felt better after running around the Lake. Running clears my head. I did not take any Advil or put Icy Hot on my legs and I could feel the difference or I am still recovering my 2nd of 3 very foolish half marathons.

Next weekend I am running the USHalf.

I am listening to Chuck Brown.

San Jose

So I went to the Adobe office in San Jose for the recruiting road show.
Lots of networking which I will be doing loads of in the near future.

I actually figured out why someone, who would want to be reached, would have Twitter rather than just remotely.

I was amazed at how great their opposite of fred (hand) dryer was at Adobe.

Based on a Facebook status I saw the price of gas at Costco was more than 2% cheaper than the other gas stations so I filled up. All of the other cars were waiting on one side while the other was open so I went to the front of the queue. Then all of the other lemmings followed me like I was the guy with the snakes in Scotland.

Went to Maya which always makes me think of NorthPoint Communications.

Red Jello

When you volunteer at the Food bank with One Brick (onebrick.org) there is a point of the evening when it is revealed what you are working with. Over the years I have done rice, frozen loaves of bread, oranges but today it was my old arch-enemy, Red Jello.

So if the 1976 pre-Noel Marcus saw a glimpse of what I was up to, he would not be too happy as I was in a room with a ton of cups of red jello at the food bank.
Could you imagine if I saw ventilators or maybe some drains?
Luckily I was able to keep it together at the food bank. I had to explain the meaning of the red jello. You had to be a long time Marcus fan to know of the red Jello.

Dumpster Diving for the New York Times + W +Ice

Ran into David Canepa who is running for Daly City Council. I told him about the trash on the fence.

As I walked by the dumpster, I saw a wrapped New York Times tossed. It is Tuesday which means, the science section, which is my favorite.
So I reached into the metallic abyss which was the dumpster. In a way, I hoped that the guy from the gas station would see this and I would have to make up an elaborate story involving stolen jackets and iPod Pepsi lids.

Did some car maintaining with changing the air filter and adding break fluid. I want to keep the Marcusmobile going for a long time. No car payment, equals less stress.

Was going for a dog walk but factors prevented that from happening.
Ended up going to see W and I picked the wrong theater. Lillian who was injured, had a bag of ice like when I sprained my ankle.

The movie was good, not great. Made Collen Powell look good, wise. The rest of the gang were well..

Sore Legs or the day after my second of three half marathons in 30 days..

I could imagine them making a movie about the Man who ran three half marathons in 30 days.
It could be a serious sports movie that other runners would watch to get pumped up. It will be used as an example for those that are doing something mildly difficult.

Perhaps the Presidential Candidates will invoke the experience of running three half marathons in a month as something.

My legs are sore and I have writers block.

An Epic Day

I woke up at 4:59 AM.
First off I was GROUCHY when I got to the parking lot and they were charging $5. I was told it was free on Friday and I had no cash. Ended up paying $9 at the Mac Hine.
Luckily I made it to the start line which would have been annoying so all's well that ends well.

I went out at a sustainable pace. Being cooler than the San Jose Half made up for the hills.

There is no doubt about who is getting the Tiffany Necklace.

Team in Training was a great experience and I am glad I did it.

Kickball was cold. I learned that if you buy something from Goodwill, you need to wash it first.

Marcus get ready...

Tomorrow is my fifth half marathon, my second of three in a thirty day period.
So today was a mellow day. Did some banking and happily it was a short time.
Then I calibrated my Fred containers for my big adventure tomorrow.

On the BART to Oakland I saw a small dog on the train. It was cute.

Went to Oakland to have lunch with Lillian. They are parts of Oakland that are rather cool. I just would not want to get lost.
Walked partially around the lake.

The Metreon is a ghost town.

The TnT Carbo load was a great event. It was amazing being a small part of such a big thing making a positive difference.

Mimes and the Nike Half

First off a new fred container (shoe) store opened in Union Square. To entice people to come in, they employed a group of Mimes in blue face. This was odd.
I could imagine a large portion of the bailout being used to promote the use of Mimes in Commerce.

Picked up my number at the Nike Expo in Union Square. The race is to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and for the obvious reason it was hard for me to not get emotional. Used oxygen which may help mentally.

Will be keeping it low key this weekend in preparation for the race which I am not going to be blazing.

A long day but with loads of produce

It was the second Thursday and I got my produce box really early.

Did see the same neighbor in Crown Colony let their dog leave a statement on the street. Dug something out of the dumpster to remove the statement from the street. Sent an e-mail to the home owners office and a message will be sent to all residents of that building.

Made Turkey Heirloom Tomato chili. Use fancy titles will make people think you are onto something.

Ran around the lake in my new fred containers and I felt like I was running in cement. Must have been hot or not set properly.

The Wizard of Oz and Parallel Universes

Made chicken soup with the carcus of the chicken that I got yesterday. Did not have noodles but had onions. It was a sesame onion chicken soup that will be featured on the Marcus cooking show whenever that gets started. Easily had to be the best chicken ever.

I saw a chalk drawing of the main characters from the Wizard of Oz. So many stories I was into involve getting involved in some adventure and then you meet up with droogs that help you along. It is the same way in Star Wars or Harry Potter.
The main character (Dorothy, Luke Skywalker or Harry Potter) is whisked from their humdrum existance (farms or suburbs) into a fantastic world beyond their level of knowledge.

Was on Chestnut Street where I bought fred containers as I have a race, or to be honest, the race on Sunday.  Was impressed that Brett remembered my fred container size (12) and the type I got. You will not get that at Sports Authority.

Then went to a pet store where I got Sasha some yum yums and a fur brush. She is a good cat.

Went to the Bus Stop but only for one drink. I need to take it easy as this course has way more hills. Need to relax and find a good pace.

Chickens and Eggs and Confusion and Michael Baisden

First off I was saddened that the Michael Baisden show was removed from my On Demand. I will call up Page Thompson and let him know I am not happy.

Second off, sorry about the confusion. Nothing is going on. I was doing a demo.

Anyway I ran around Daly City as I had to run some errands that was in non-good parking areas. Not a huge fans of running around Daly City.

Went into the city to get my CSA Slow Food Chicken and Eggs. Stood in front of the house and to answer the obvious question, the eggs arrived first.

Picked up my Half Marathon packet then went to Hemlock. Will be getting a cave prize for someone on Sunday.

Marcus goes to the dentist and to the Park Chalet

If someone would have told me that Raider and Brando's people would be going up to Daly City to a dentist office I would have been concerned.
Luckily I do not

I was really nervous about going to the dentist for the first time in years but luckily it was not bad at all and my teeth look way better.
I had all these odd ideas about the condition of my teeth.

Met up at the Park Chalet. Anyplace that is dog friendly is good.

Parenting Test

I know that being a parent is a tough gig.
I want to provide you with a simple test to indicate, am I decent parent.
It is really simple. If I am screaming at your child to put down a 40 oz of booze, then maybe you may want to clear more time on our schedule to watch your child.
Maybe, not sure.

We won our game, Charles did a good job of rousting the bums so I must give him props.

I am sure you are all sitting in front of your computers hitting refresh waiting for me to drop some more wisdom.
Maybe another Sarah Palin is actually a subversive comedic genius comment.

Yesterday I took Raider and Brando into the city for the tournament. When I get back to my place I will post photos of these two mush heads.
Luckily I ran into another player as I honestly had no clue where Pioneer Meadow is.

It was a perfect day weather wise and dog time is always good.

Scaring Generations of Asian Pedestrians in Palo Alto

I am not a fan of running on the side walk but I hate it when a car collides with me and is crushed around me.
When one thinks of Marcus Ronaldi, one does not think, he is so light on his feet. He and that cat black and white tuxedo cat of his are both equally as quiet.

So I am running on the sidewalk (on Hamilton) and this mother and daughter are walking along probably discussing my blog and my cat like reflexes. I say, excuse me and the younger woman screams which makes her Mom scream and startles me. I apologize and then we laughed about it.
Sort of like this video.

Hey Rube

Part of me thinks that the 19th Century would have been fun to observe.
One of those "word of the day" things had "Hey Rube" which was A fight between members of a circus and the general public. 2. A call to rally circus members in a fight.
Could you imagine anything more fun to watch? I guess this was fairly common for them to come up with a term.

Even though I am bigger than most 19th century folk, I think they would be far scrappier and have a higher tolerance for pain so I doubt I should join in. But a fight between the unwashed masses and the riff raft that made up a 19th century circus, wow!

In the city I saw two unusual sites. First off a tall blind woman wearing one of those Chinese dresses (I do not know the name of this item of clothing) with high heels. I am not sure if blind women wear heals.

The next thing was an artist with a friendly retriever who was rocking out to Jackie Blue outside of their van on the Embarcadaro.

Was at the Urban Diversion Happy Hour but my mind was elsewhere so I split early.

Fort Funston

I purchased the following items at the store
1) Cat Food (Deli Cat)
2) A can opener (they are not supposed to be mac hine washed but by opposite of fred)
3) Ice Cube Tray
other things of less interest. I had one of those $5 off a $25 purchase and had to ask for the five dollar bill at the end of the transaction. I did ask the guy, did you deduct all of the coupons. I doubt he will be joining the Marcus fan club.

Went to Fort Funston with Nia who is a Beagle. Dog time is good for what ails you.

Everything is borrowed...

Before I start boring you to tears I am going to give you a musical assignment.
Watch this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8BHL5SWX0Q

This is one of my favorite bands even though its one bloke. This is one of those acts I do not understand why they are not more popular in the US.

This morning I was on a walk in my complex when I saw a woman allowing her dog to foil the road. By the time I was there she and her dog were gone but they left a present. I found something to clean it up.
Was annoyed for a bit because I am not allowed to have a twenty pound + dog because many of the dog owners of Crown Colony are not very considerate. Many of the dogs lack basic doggyness.

Had a spot of curry at Tasty Curry in the Sunset.

San Jose Half Marathon

Rose early from sleep
Drove in darkness to San Jose
for half marathon

Up until last night I was undecided about running the San Jose Rock and Roll Half Marathon. I have two more in the next week that do not require a drive to the South Bay.
But I got myself ready the night before (this is great advice that I got from reading a book about running)

I like driving on 280 on Sunday as it is the rare time that I can use my cruise control.

I signed up for the San Jose Half last year and had no concept of time so I placed myself in the last corral but I moved myself up to the proper group and for the most part I passed people.
San Jose does not make for an interesting view but I did see a White Standard Poodle in the middle of the race. I think it was a time traveling Noel who was checking up on me. That was my only stop.

After the race I walked into Britannia Arms with a whole mess of wet money. They never got around to serving me so I limped back to the Marcusmobile.
Which in the scheme of things, was probably for the best. I thought of writing a nasty review on Yelp but thought that I would be a jerkface and honestly not gain anything out of the transaction.

I met a woman on the way to the cars who is running 1) The Nike Women's Half 2) The US Half and 3) The Las Vegas Half. She also runs around the Lake. I thought she might have been a very talented Marcus fan/stalker but she did mention a boyfriend character.

After a nappy poo I made my way to the City for kickball because well I am mental. Luckily the other team forfeited and they were playing laugh olympics
I got up once and was one for one but it was a meaningless game.
