Answering questions

First off, the Greatest Blog Video of the Day...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6LZzVCpYDY

Second off Sasha and I survived the Earthquake. I was feeling under the weather after dragging my old mattress a quarter of a mile so after getting back from toiling I had a lie down and then went to sleep only to be woken by the earthquake. So I have no idea how Sasha was acting prior to the Earthquake. I should have some of Sasha Boo cam.

Third, after loads of sleep, I am feeling way better.

So the mattress Arrived!

Waiting for a Mattress (The final chapter?)

I am in my place, waiting for my mattress from Dirt Cheap Mattresses. It may arrive while I am writing this entry but in retrospect, perhaps I should have held off getting rid of my old bed until the new bed arrived OR paid the extra fee for removal.

You may be amazed but my ad on Craigslist for a free mattress did not elicit loads of responses. In fact outside of a broken microwave, this was the only thing I was not able to give away.

I drove home and on 92 I saw an old woman walking along the side of the highway. Either she was lost, her car was broken down or did not understand the concept of not walking on the side of busy freeways. I pulled over and let her walk up to the car. She was able to say, "Vietnam" and "San Mateo". Considering she was walking away from San Mateo I offered her a ride and took her to the fire station and they were going to get an officer that spoke Vietnamese. She was probably somebody's Mom, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother etc.

Went to the Sawyer Camp Trail for a short (3.1 miles at 9:07 miles) that put me at 548 miles
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase=" http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="198" height="145" id="Nike+ Runs" align="middle"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="movie" value=" http://nikeplus.nike.com/nikeplus/v1/swf/scrapablewidget/rundetail.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /><param name="FlashVars" value="type=individualRun&userDefaultUnit=mi&screenName=hydra1970&dateFormat=MM/DD/YY&id=82556857&region=us&language=en&locale=en_us"/><embed src=" http://nikeplus.nike.com/nikeplus/v1/swf/scrapablewidget/rundetail.swf" quality="high" wmode="transparent" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="198" height="145" name="Nike+ Runs" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" FlashVars="type=individualRun&userDefaultUnit=mi&screenName=hydra1970&dateFormat=MM/DD/YY&id=82556857&region=us&language=en&locale=en_us" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage=" http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed></object>

My eyes were stinging.

I get back to Daly City and I do not want to pay extra for the removal of the mattress. So I drag the mattress, box spring and frame to the dumpster in three trips. I felt like members of the 1958 Yankees digging a ditch for a pool.

The Safeway guy arrived early but I am still waiting for the mattress.

Pot Luck

They are a couple of activities that are common in an office environment that I find perilous.

One is the signing of the birthday card. First off my bad opposite of fred writing is exposed. Second, I have NO idea what to say that makes sense.

Second are pot luck lunches. It always makes me think of John Nash bringing a bag of doughnuts and everyone wondering why he is so cheap.

During the Darjeeling Limited I remembered that we had a scheduled Pot Luck lunch so I had to go to the IGA (No, I did not fly to BWI and then cab it to Deale) where I got strawberries, Chocolate Dip and Pumpkin Tarts. As I had to bring my crap down to my car, I wanted items that could sleep in the trunk of the Marcusmobile.

This morning I drag my stuff to the Marcusmobile and I cannot find my satellite receiver. My iPod was in the trunk of the car and no CD's so I was thinking that I would have to drive from the Richmond District in San Francisco to Santa Clara while either sitting in complete silence OR far worse, listening to poor people radio. Luckily I found it stuck in the seat so I was able to listen to Howard Stern. They did not have a commercial break until I was in Sunnyvale and then I switched to 101 (while on the 101!).

Back to the whole thing about the pot luck, many of my fellow toilers did not remember so they are going to some of the surrounding places. I wish they would open Trader Joes close to here.

Fire Drill

At toiling we had a fire drill and as I do not like crowded stair wells I darted down the stairs and I was the first one out of the building.
As I do not like crowded elevators and queues I took the stairs back up.

I wished that I had brought my iPod so I could rock out a little.

Will be in the city most of the weekend and tomorrow will be low tech Saturday which means no cell phone or e-mail. I will need to bother people on the street about the time though....

I am really down on Microsoft OR the current version of Microsoft is like the Beach Boys WITHOUT Brian Wilson

Before you read, you watch
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goZduwJQV6w

A few months ago I interviewed with Microsoft for a recruiter position. The woman I was speaking to did not have my resume as her Outlook crashed. She worked at Microsoft. This should say A LOT!

A couple of questions for my audience
1) On an average day, how many Zunes do you see? Honestly I see more people on Tricycles blarring Thriller than Zunes.
iPod killer? Sort of like Michael Spinks was supposed to be a Tyson killer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_h9xMgvOxmY

2) When was the last time GMail (or Yahoo Mail or Apple Mail) crashed your system?
How can an application on my desktop (Outlook) take longer to load than a web based application? Honestly?

Google or Apple needs to make a Game Console.

So Microsoft without Bill Gates is like the Beach Boys (who are still touring) without Brian Wilson.
That is like Peter Best and Ringo Starr touring as the Beatles.

Gavin Newsom's Pet Peeve Blog

In addition about telling you about my daily adventures sometimes I like to bring to your attention other blogs.
http://actlocallysf.org/blog/petpeevesblog/

So if you have a "pet peeve" you can then post it on this blog so if you are annoyed by 1) people tossing cigarette butts on the ground then you can post it.

Here is the bed that I am getting. Best of all I will not to wait in queue as I will be able to order it on the INTERNET.
http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11237258&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&lang=en-US&s=1

My car has been sluggish since I have been using Costco gas. It may all be in my head. I am right at 150,000 miles and I want to get to at least 200,000 miles.
I am not going to get gas at Costco for a while and see if it fixes my problem : (

Post Kickball letdown

So my kickball season ended and well I am a bit bummed. Louis Black said that man needs a ritual and despite my complaints about punctuality I will miss Sunday in the park.

Two weeks from yesterday I have my half marathon (AND THANK YOU FOR DONATIONS) and then we have the "time change" which means that it will be dark shortly after the end of toil. I think the time change is very daft.

My readers turn to me for ideas on new music. So watch this video

WAKA Playoffs

This morning I was feeling very bourgeois and went to Costco. I
should have had my camera as the masses were at the temple of
Capitalism. I was in and out and on my way quickly.

Went to Kezar where I ran one mile at the following pace
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/

type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://

The last time I ran this pace was in 1988,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRFiTwQwcNk

The donations for my half marathon is coming and I am VERY THANKFUL
for each and every donation.

So we had Kickball Playoffs and we lost 4 to 2. I was 0 for 2. I was
considering retirement but I will return for a fifth season.

Here are some pictures.
