Mulch v Compost

So in order to save the world I have been putting my product clippings in my plant pots in a half thought attempt at composting. This may come as a shock but it was getting not no nice so I figured I would learn how to do it somewhat properly. I also needed to buy a light bulb for my spot of toil (you are now thinking this is the most made of wood blog!!!) as it had a yucky fluorescent light.

I go to the Orchard Supply Store in South San Francisco and I tell them that I need something for mulching and they correct me. Thankfully I did not go to Home Depot.

So I buy this large bucket and I loudly declare, "I has a bucket!" over and over again but I doubt the people at the store had any clue about the Walrus but at this point the Walrus was Marcus!

I go onto my deck and I place all of the produce remains (which were getting kind of gross) in my bucket and I put the compost stuff on it.

Then maybe I may have rich dirt! But then again if I am at a Happy Hour for One Brick doing chat ups then I can go on about my composting project.

As the One Brick Happy Hour was in a dodgy neighborhood full of people that are always $.30 from Happiness I took BART as I did not want the Marcusmobile broken into. I like the One Brick Happy Hours (http://www.onebrick.org) as they are friendly crowds and they give you a name tag. As I dubbed myself JaMarcus at a past volunteer gig I put that on my badge.

Purchased a bag of pretzels for a woman that has a dog named Ollie and who went to the 1982 Knoxville World Fair but when I return the pretzel bowls were all filled to the brim. It was not like a Mentos commercial.

This weekend I am going to be doing community service and I did not even do any vandalism!
