Bay to Breakers from the guy who finished 4239th but is still faster than MUNI
So today was Bay to Breakers which is actually four events. One an elite running event involving very fast humans. The next is a huge group of runners that will not be breaking any records. Then comes the leisurely walkers followed by decadent drunks. Upon observing all four I think the last group exceeds the highest tolls on themselves. The Kenyans have nothing on the Axe wearing Chico State grade slowly rising like an opponent in an early Tyson fight.
I am in the second group and therefore did not sleep well at all last night. When I have to race early in the morning I am always anxious and I have dreams that I overslept the starting gun. This never happens but still.
I was very well organized including a BART card for $2.85.
Every year they have a bunch of guys at the start holding signs about how Mockers (among others) will be going to Hell, which is as real as the Death Star or Jabba the Hutt's palace. They are a bunch of tortillas and I threw mostly at the sign holders.
I was really happy with my time of 72 minutes. Slower than my 68 minute goal but thinking back, I am not quite sure where I got that number. Still seven minutes faster than last year.

Walked back over the race and it got crazier and crazier as I got further up. It went from the 2nd group, to the third to the insane forth.
Met up with Alison. This woman needed to use my phone to find her friend who was not findable but who kept on texting me about the location, I would respond with, "I do not know where your friend went"
Ran into someone who was a Lost fan that dressed up like Frank Chu. I got Frank on the horn to talk to the person dressed up like him.
As it got COLD and foggy I ended up buying a shirt at the thrift store so I would not freeze.
It took me longer for a bus to pick me up and take me to the Daly City BART station than it did for me to run Bay to Breakers. In a way I felt like John Henry.
