Fwd: We've missed you... Come back soon!

Here are the reasons why Safeway has been demoted in my shopping
1) Repeated Bad Treatment at the stores such as long queues and arguing about refunds etc...
2) Way fresher produce at farmers markets
3) Farm Salomon
4) Non grass fed meat
5) No origins on Produce.

I did not actually see the talk but I do have an interesting anecdote regarding the talk.

We made a concerted effort to go, however, as you noted, it was absurdly crowded and we did not get near where we were supposed to be until close to 7:30. Google Maps had failed me (again) and we were sort of lost. One of the friends kept pestering me (sitting in the front passengers seat) to ask someone for directions. I wound down my window when I saw some guy carrying a copy of in defense of food.

I said, awkwardly, "Do you know where the Michael Pollan talk is?"
Then I looked up and realized I was asking Michael Pollan where the Michael Pollan talk was.
He just sniggered a bit and said, "Yeah, it's that way. Follow the cars."
Then he walked away.

When we arrived it was so packed that there was no way we were going to get in the door, let alone find seats.

We decided that we could listen to him on NPR and since we had not only seen him, but actually talked to him, we were okay to leave and get dinner.
