Asking for money

Dear Family and Friends,

On March 31, 2007, I will climb 1,197 steps to the 52nd floor of San Francisco's 555 California (former B of A Building) in the inaugural "Genentech Climb California" event to help raise money for lung disease research and education.

I strongly support the mission of the American Lung Association to prevent lung disease and promote lung health.

Thousands of others throughout the area are climbing to raise funds for the American Lung Association as we help others breathe easier. You may think that it's crazy to climb 1,197 stairs, but I am doing so because I am able.  I can breathe freely, and there are many people who are not as lucky as I.
I am writing to you because I would like your support.

Please visit my web page to make a tax deductible donation online at www.climbcalifornia.org. Please give what you are able; every dollar makes a difference.

Your pledge to the American Lung Association will sustain their commitment to the prevention of all respiratory diseases including lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (emphysema and chronic bronchitis) and asthma.
Thank you for your support as I challenge myself not only in participating in the American Lung Association's "Genentech Climb California" event, but also by raising money for this very worthwhile cause.

Sincerely,
Marcus Ronaldi
