Sasquatch Scramble

In the 1970's Sasquatch or Bigfoot was everywhere, from the Bionic Man to In Search Of.
Throw in some random documentaries and no wonder my knucklehead friends and I would search the woods behind Marlton for Bigfoot. Looking back, I am glad we did not encounter Bigfoot.
Went to Redwood Regional Park in Oakland on an early Saturday Morning.
Whenever I go to the East Bay when there is not much traffic I think, why does Marcus not take his show on the road to the East Bay on a more frequent basis but then they are the days I am stick in the car for hours and then I know why I rarely go beyond San Francisco or Daly City.
But on this morning there was no challenge to make it to the East Bay and I got a great parking spot.

Since I re-started running in 2007 I have gone on about 1450 runs. Some great, some terrible but this was easily one of the most challenging, right up along with my first half marathon in 2007 and I wisely chose to run the 10K.
Part of me is happy that I did not wreck myself doing a half but then again, being able to said I did a trail half marathon.

Trail running is a completely different set of potatoes than running along the Embarcadero dodging funnel cake eating Cleveland Brown fans.

Was told by the organizers that from mile 1 to 2.5 would be challenging. Like me telling someone, the Star Wars Holiday Special is really bad, they were correct. They were hills, not like the crest of the Fort Mason Hill but rather a dust filled up and up like we were in the Lord of the Rings.

Was not too proud to walk up some of these inclines.

Even the downhills were steep enough that it was difficult to go full speed.

Great job on a real challenge. For more information check out

Auspicious Poodle

On the way into the city I noticed at the Intersection of the 101 & 280 and noticed that 101 North was backing up and in a jerk way I was briefly happy.
Ran six miles but my watch only aid 5.6 but that is OK.
Saw a standard poodle which is Auspicious

Got a free lunch from Chipotle as their system was down.

Apples

A lot of people who read my statuses think that I am rigid in things I like/dislike. For example, like The Beatles and Procol Harum, dislike Huey Lewis and the News, the Cars and Journey. But I am open to change. A few years ago I complained that my CSA gave me grapefruit (#1stworldproblems) and someone told me to eat it and now I like Grapefruit more than Oranges. (To be fair citrus fruits are down on my list). Went to Costco yesterday (where the Blueberries were not on sale!) and instead of Fuji, I got Pink Lady Apples. Will let everyone know as I am sure the list of things people are concerned about are my opinion of produce.

A good song: Stand: Sly and the Family Stone

A consistently good song is Stand, by Sly and the Family Stone.

Had a good spin class and followed it up with running 8.3 miles as I wanted to reach 25 miles for the week and tomorrow is the rest days of rest days.
Outside news put everything else in perspective.
