Thoughts on the end of the world and annoyance with credit card minimums.
Yesterday was supposed to be the Rapture based on the well thought out calculations and unless we all got shifted to a parallel universe, then nothing really happened but in a way it got people talking about if it was the end of the world.
These types of predictions make sense from a pre-science World View when events like Comets, Earthquakes, Droughts, bounties were seen as divine actions.
I guess the take away is the very basic "live each day like its your last". I know quite a few people who assign a negative value to Monday and they trudge through the week to sit around and watch sports all weekend.

Upgraded my phone so I can countdown to the day when I will find the latency on that phone to be nonsense.
On another note, not a fan of places with arbitrary credit card minimums. Met someone for a beer at the Fish Bowl but due to the large amount of sports ball it was crowded. So went to a nearby place. Our bill was $12 but I was told that they had a $20 minimun on a credit card. As I did not have any cash, the other person had to pay. I will not be going back. (It is 2011 and I HATE paying cash...)
