In Churchton

I could not have asked for more on my flight as I was in a row by myself from SFO to Minnesota.
Then from Minnesota to DC the middle seat was empty.
I did see a guy in the Minnesota airport walking around with a gerbil in a cage. Considering the whole Larry Craig thing, I was suspicious but I am sure it was legit.

Went to the Food Lion in Upper Marlboro to buy Ben Gay as I plan on going running in Churchton.
Someone was writing a check and they did not look like a pensioner but in these modern times..

Ended up going a long four miles. I was totally and completely drained. Its amazing what running in slightly higher temperature, sans music, worrying about cars, no attractive women or cute dogs to be seen. That made running on a tread mill a sensible alternative. Just over 4 miles to put me at 83 miles for May or just over 410 miles for 2008. In June I need to run around 89 miles. I am sure this narrative is very interesting to each and every one of you.

I stopped off a the True Value in Deale but they did not have a beverage for less than a dollar. Then went to the IGA where I got an Iced Tea. I am quite sure that my Tuesday run will be stellar because this was total crap. My legs will have a great effortless stride. Today I felt like I was in molasses mixed with Malaria. (I honestly have as much knowledge of Malaria as I do Heroin but it sounded good and kind of dramatic. Note when I use examples, often I have no idea if it makes logical sense...) I do know the medication you need to take for malaria makes you hallucinate. I am pretty sure I do not want to go to a malaria area. But I do want to ride around on an elephant. They are cool animals.

I did see a turtle crossing the road. I turned him around as I am sure he would be hit by a car. He was probably annoyed and saw me as a judgemental busy body/

Produce

For the most part, I live a fairly spartan life. I live in a modest condo that is not the model for Melrose Place. I drive an older car. In fact I think the rise in gas prices is saving me thousands of dollars per year.
First off I am driving way less than I was and taking way more public transit. This leads to less mileage, which leads to more life on the Marcusmobile that we first met when I was a young lad of 26.
Even if I was to get a basic car it would cost $15,000.
I do not dine at Donnie Darko or drop a Benjamin at the T I P on an S A T U R D A Y Night.
What I do spend money on is getting produce delivered. Today it was kind of a pain in the ass as I thought I had canceled my order as I will be going to Maryland to cheat on the Daly City farmers market and the Union Street Festival and the fact that I cannot read calendars. I like Holidays that do not move/confuse.
So I go down to the ferry building and get a call from the driver telling me that the produce is being delivered. As Mary has moved onto the great gig in the sky she could not work it out so I had him put it on the top of my storage bin which is full of failed hobbies.
Had a nice time drinking a milkshake (I am glad no one came around trying to drink it with a long straw!) at the Ferry Building. Being a good listener is a good quality.

The coupons changed on the west coast. I am giving my Dad my quarterly $5 off a $50 purchase because I mostly buy either kickball beer OR cat stuff at Safeway as their food is of flyover state quality. Lots of Hydroganated Oils and High Frucose Corn Syrup.
You would be surprised that if your smart, your not spending way more at Whole Foods or Trader Joes and definately at the Farmers Market. I saw Lucky's is having a laughable ad campaign about an indoor farmers market.

Short

I must say that for the most part, riding BART is way more pleasant than riding MUNI except for the damn soup eaters.
Also it takes a little bit less to ride the BART to Daly City than it does to take the 30 from the Marina. Now if the scenery could change and they could open a Plutos and an Apple store we would be set.

For lunch went to the Metreon which is REALLY sad. If for some reason you needed to hide out the second store is a good place. The place that was the Microsoft store a few years ago is now an arcade full of the stupid claw games. I could not imagine all of those games ever being used.

Then I saw a sign for some sort of lunch special. I asked the place about it and he had no idea what I was on about. The Metreon is a White Elephant. Even the movie theater smells.

Went to kickball and I am sure that most of my time is suspended in some sort of plasma.

Fun on Muni

On Tuesday I drive to the Marina and then ride the bus to toiling.
Now that I know what bus is the right one its OK, they just need to eliminate 70% of all stops.

Then on the way back I was minding my own business and I felt someone poking me. I was not too pleased and the person asked me what time it is. Use your words! Do not touch me! Gross Bus Man with the weird tennis racket and tennis book and Grissly Adams Beard. I am sure you lost to Nastase in 1976 but still do not touch me! I almost considered getting off the bus and then taking another bus.

I ran a little over 5 miles to put me at 403.7 miles for the year or 96.3 miles until the end of June to be on pace for 1000 miles.

We won in volleyball. I did not like the other team because they were not punctual.

Met a woman at Circa who told me a good joke about an elephant and a fridge.

memorial day

Dogs are a good thing. Sasha has never been to Golden Gate Park and when she writes her autobiography, I doubt it would include her sadness about not being able to hang out in the park.

Someone baked two pies. One for Obama, the other for Clinton. As far as I know there was at least one Tory supporter, everyone else was a labor fan.
I wish they had a UK version of "Stuff White People Like" so I would know what is coming in about nine months. They were more Obama supporters than Hillary. He still needs to buy me Pizza (Hillary picked up the tab in 1992)

Last night I had a dream that I had a bald spot that was not visible to those shorter than me. (I am not friends with anyone taller than me). Then the key to my Sentra broke and GW Bush came by and picked me up and introduced me to Barbara (his daughter) and was saying how she was bummed since her twin sister got married. For sharing dreams I need my Sasha,

my mind in sky and when I wake up

Guess the song I am listening to...  I would have to say that FAR AND AWAY, this is the best time to be a music fan...
When I was a kid I had to wait YEARS to hear Kung Fu Fighting

Potato Motivation VHS Tapes Pleats

This is what went down on Saturday.
I got up and did not need a weatherman to tell me that it was raining. As you know I am made of sugar and will melt if I run in the rain so I decided to put off running or the worst of all possible worlds (definitely not Hannah Montana!!) running inside.
I find running on a treadmill inside to be very boring.

I went through and got rid of a load of trousers that were too big or that would get me in trouble with the fashion police. I like giving things away. I placed an ad for free stuff on Craigslist but did not want to sit around my apartment waiting for some scavangers to show up so I took the games to Game Crazy and the VCR/Coffee Mac Hine/trousers to the Good Will truck and then went to the farmers market.
Got strawberries and randberries and some bread. Late in the day is the time to hit for better prices at the farmers market.

Drove to Ocean Beach and between a sore hamstring, a cold and bad weather my motivation was low but I was able to get four miles in and I felt better afterwards.

Had coffee with Aimee who told me the story of a potato being tossed onto her lap on a bus. I called Wendy's and it turns out that they do not have Wendy's logos on the wrapper.
To keep up I told a story of stolen biscuits
http://www.snopes.com/crime/safety/cookies.asp

She also told crazy stories about her feet but I could not top it.

Went to Nordstroms Rack in Soma and got two shirts and some fred containers.

Drove out to the capitol of hip-dom, fishermans wharf, where you see loads of grown men wearing sport jerseys. I was reading random stuff at Barnes and Noble then went to Fiddlers which had one of the best ratios of any Urban Diversion event I went to. I was called out for being a wimp and not running in a run.
Sat at by Aquatic Park and drank some wine

A very Peter Brady Party....

So you may be wondering, if Marcus is having a party, then why was I not invited.
You are probably checking your e-mail/facebook/mailbox etc and chances are, you were not invited,
Do not take it personally. Parking at Crown Colony sucks. If you would like simulate looking for parking then next time I see you I can put your head in some sort of car door and slam it. You will get the effect and not have to drive the 14 miles. At $4.07 this is a consideration that needs to be taken into account.
It turns out that the Peter Brady Party episode aired on 2/20/1970 which was 10 months before I was born.

My apartment is clean and It is now 5:28 2 minutes before the residents of building 24 will come pouring in.

It is now 5:31 and my neighbors are fashionable. I could imagine of throngs of people pouring in at 5:30 on the dot. This has not happened.

I baked a sheet of pre-made cookies per ADR's suggestion.

Suddenly the mist/fog rolled into Crown Colony.

I need to write to Emily Post about when it is proper to start drinking when waiting for guest to arrive.

Not too concerned as my main motivation was the cleaning of my apartment and getting ready of clutter which happened yesterday (and today).
Sasha was put into the other room but she outsmarted me. She always does. She is the brains in the operation.

Not a fan of the excessive tattoos on women. Stick with the dolphin/sun etc but unless you are going undercover of a biking gang then lay off the ink. I do not care what men do with tattoos.

Mortified....

I have to admit that I was nervous before my part of the show but once I got on the stage I knew it was not like the time I did stand up comedy which was probably the reason I am such a wallflower.
I won the title of the worst. Maybe I am part Vogon.

Ran 6 miles and ran into CJ who does not have to use fancy ear pieces. My hamstring hurt a bit.
